Manchester United Favourites To Sign Chelsea Legend Frank Lampard

Manchester United are favourites to sign Chelsea stalwart Frank Lampard as early as this January, with Chelsea owner and Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich refusing to extend the stay of the Chelsea and England midfielder.

Sir Alex Ferguson was reportedly offered the midfielder last January, but turned the deal down due to Paul Scholes coming out of retirement.

Man Utd have been linked with a variety of top, quality midfield players in recent years, but with behemoth price tags hardly justifying their ability, Frank Lampard is potentially the bargain buy of the decade.

Although lavished in big game experience, a goal-scoring midfielder with over 10 years experience in the Premier League, would work wonders in the Manchester United midfield, and the potential future of young midfielders, Tom Cleverley, Anderson, Nick Powell etc.

At the age of 34, Lampard is expected to be offered a 3 year deal in order to sway him to the Manchester, instead of uprooting to Russia, China or the USA.

Sir Alex Ferguson has showed throughout his 26 year tenure in the Old Trafford dugout that no matter whether you're at the beginning of your career or at the end, the Scot knows how to get the best out his players. With the likes of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes still going strong into their late 30's, Lampard would arrive at a reasonably young 34, and further cement his legacy as a Premier League legend.
