Manchester United and Premier League rivals Chelsea are looking to sign France youth international Tiemoue Bakayoko according to Inside Futbol.

The highly rated 19-year-old midfielder is currently plying his trade in the French first division Ligue 1, for Rennes, having made his senior debut for Les Rouges et Noirs earlier in 2013.

United and Chelsea have taken an interest in the youngster after seeing that Bakayoko has made substantial progress for both club and country, although the two Premier League sides are not thought to be the only clubs keeping tabs on the player.

Word has spread of Bakayoko's talent as he has risen through the national team ranks, from the Under-16, 17 and 18's attracting numerous talent scouts.

The 19-year-old who is a defensive midfielder by trade has featured in 12 of Rennes Ligue 1 games so far this season and the club will no want to lose the player who is a product of their youth academy. But if the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea come in with big money offers, they may be powerless to refuse.

Bakayoko played in Rennes 2-0 defeat at the hands of Lorient on Sunday and whilst being a defensive player by nature, the teenager has already opened his goalscoring account for Rennes this season, scoring in a 5-0 thrashing of Toulouse in October.
