Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reported to be tracking Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain according to reports on Spanish radio station Candena Ser.

Real boss Jose Mourinho is hoping to land long-term Brazilian target Neymar which could pave the way for Hiquain to leave the Bernabeu.  With four years still to run on his current contract, it is believed United will need to offer a fee in the region of £25m to make the move possible.

Liverpool are also said to be tracking Higuain as boss Kenny Dalglish weighs up a January move which would see him team up with fellow South American sensation Luis Suarez.
