Manchester City legend Colin Bell hits out at fans for sick Munich chanting

Manchester City legend Colin Bell has become the first high-profile figure to demand his club's fans stop their controversial 'Munich' chanting. [LNB]A minority of City supporters tarnished their team's Barclays Premier League win at Blackburn on Monday by referring to fans of rivals Manchester United as 'Munichs' in a song hailing their recent FA Cup semi-final victory. [LNB] Cut it out: City fans have incorporated references to the Munich disaster into a song following the semi-final win[LNB]And last night former City star Bell spoke out in a bid to stop fans tainting the memory of the 23 players, staff, officials and journalists who died when a plane carrying the United party home from a European Cup tie crashed at Munich airport in 1958. [LNB]Bell, 65, said: 'They are not true City supporters. Football is a sport at the end of the day and they are chanting about people's lives. It has gone on long enough and I appeal to them to stop. It's sad and I think it is truly out of order. [LNB]'I played for City and now consider myself a supporter of the club and these chants are degrading the club. I don't like it one little bit.'
