The group stage of the Champions League has its critics and certainly it can be somewhat predictable.[LNB]Nevertheless, in Istanbul and beyond, 2009 will be remembered as the year Besiktas toppled one of the greats. In Turkey, victories over English opponents are not allowed to pass unnoticed.[LNB]Not for eight years had a Turkish team won in England prior to Wednesday night.
