Man United to play David Beckham and MLS All-Stars in July

Manchester United could potentially come up against David Beckham when they head out to the America this summer to take on an MLS All-Star team for the second year running.[LNB]Beckham did not play in United's 5-2 win in Houston last year, owing to the achilles injury which kept him out ofthe World Cup, but he has played for the All-Stars previously against West Ham in 2008.[LNB]The MLS announced on Monday that the game will take place at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey on Wednesday July 27.[LNB] Potential opponent: David Beckham is likely to play if fit[LNB] Sir Alex Ferguson is looking forward to the rematch, he said: 'We're delighted to have been invited to play the MLS All-Star Game forthe second year running.[LNB]'Last year'sgame was a special occasion in front of a noisy, passionate crowd.Obviously we'll be looking to repeat the performance and the scoreline.'[LNB] All-star: Javier Hernandez celebrates scoring in last year's game[LNB] American-owned United have a burgeoning reputation in the States and their summer visits will do no harm to their popularity.[LNB]'We are pleased to host Manchester United again for our marquee summerevent,' MLS Commissioner Don Garber said in a statement.
