Macheda makes the difference
Federico Macheda settled a closely-fought Lancashire Senior Cup final in favour of Manchester United last night.
Despite fielding a strong side, which included new signing Chung-yong Lee, Bolton were unable to make their experience tell at the County Ground.
And, with the game seemingly destined for penalties, Macheda struck four minutes from time to seal the trophy and give a nudge to Sir Alex Ferguson, who did not even find a place for the young Italian on the bench as United opened their Premier League title defence with a win against Birmingham on Sunday.
