Macheda can be the new King: Former United youth coach impressed by Italian starlet
Former Manchester United youth guru Eric Harrison has likened Federico Macheda to Old Trafford legend Denis Law.
Harrison said: 'I have seen a lot of him in the reserves and he is an impressive striker. He is a Ruud Van Nistelrooy type of player. He is always there in the right place at the right time. Ruud instinctively knew where the goal was and when a ball dropped in the area he'd be on the spot.
'Denis Law was another who had that natural knack to feed off even half chances in the box. Macheda looks like he has the same ability.
'His goal against Sunderland was typical of Van Nistelrooy and Law. When Michael Carrick's shot is coming his way he has the goalscorer's instinct just to try to steer it towards goal. That's a big percentage of a strikers game and he's got it.
'He has obviously been doing that all his life. He knows what to do in that split-second moment.
