SIR Alex Ferguson is convinced Federico Macheda can prove United's secret weapon. The Italian teenager was on target for the second time is as many games yesterday as United beat FC Seoul 3-2. And after describing the striker as a future Old Trafford hero this week, Fergie believes Macheda is ready to make an impact for the Premier League champions straight away. The United boss said: "Federico's goal was excellent. His movement was very good and he always seems to do well when he gets on the shoulder of defenders. "It is really pleasing to see your strikers scoring. Obviously the main ones are going to be Owen, Rooney and Berbatov and I am very comfortable with that. "But if Federico continues to progress, it will be a big advantage to us because it would give us an extra player from the word go." Fergie has seen the perfect response from his strikers in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo with Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen and Macheda all scoring two goals each on their Far East tour, while Dimitar Berbatov scored a brilliant headed winner against Seoul. Less positive news for United was a fresh injury to Gary Neville, who has returned to Manchester with a groin problem. He is expected to be out for 10 days. "It would have been silly to keep him here if he was not going to play so we sent him home this morning," said Fergie, who also confirmed that Park Ji Sung will be rewarded with a new contract. "His performance level in the last few years has been outstanding. He is a top player and we want him to stay."
