Luis Suarez is damaging Liverpool - Gary Neville

11 February 2012 22:59
uis Suarez didn't help himself, his team-mates, his club or his manager with his actions on Saturday in refusing to shake Patrice Evra's hand.[LNB]Here was an opportunity to clear up this affair and deal with it. Words had been spoken, punishments served. Now shake hands and move on.[LNB]By not doing so he not only reopened the whole issue, he also fired up a Manchester United team. However unfairly treated he feels, however harsh he thinks his punishment was, he should have been able to put that aside.[LNB] Flashpoint: Luis Suarez appears to refuse to shake Patrice Evra's hand before the game[LNB]Kenny Dalglish will want to support his player, but I've never seen him react in the way he did to the post-match interview.[LNB]He must now recognise that he is missing the importance of this issue in a big way and that the Suarez affair is creating unnecessary pressure on the team and negativity around the club.[LNB]I can't believe that the Anfield owners, sitting over in America, will be happy with what they are witnessing.[LNB] Dalglish: Liverpool boss seems to be missing the importance of this issue[LNB]As far as the football was concerned, Manchester United have been coming dangerously into form the past couple of weeks, which puts the pressure back on Manchester City.[LNB]United defended well, apart from the mistake for the goal, and going forward Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Antonio Valencia and Paul Scholes are beginning to hit their rhythm.[LNB]And United have Ryan Giggs, who played his 899th game for United on Saturday to round off the week he signed a new contract that will take him past his 39th birthday.[LNB] Looking good: Two goals from Wayne Rooney (left) helped United to victory, while Ryan Giggs (right) played his 899th game for the Reds[LNB]In him we are witnessing, week in, week out, greatness the like of which we may not see for a long time, someone who is completely dedicated, doesn't know when he is beaten and fights to the last minute of every game.[LNB] I was reading reports from 2004 asking: 'How will United replace Giggs and Keane?' He was 31 at the time.[LNB]To play at that level for 22 years at such a standard is remarkable. Only the likes of Paolo Maldini can compare and that is high praise.[LNB] Suarez shouldn't play for Liverpool again! Fergie hits out 'disgraceful' striker after snubBang out of order!
