Louis Van Gaal is somewhat pre-occupied managing a pretty decent international team in Brazil this summer but seems to have half an eye on his next charges for when the World Cup finishes. Van Gaal it seems has been looking at his Dutch team and seeing what he can re-purpose at Manchester United next season.

A report has come out from the Mirror that the Netherlands boss is “desperate” to sign Arjen Robben from Bayern Munich who quote Bryan Roy the Ajax youth coach as the source. An RVP and Robben front line would certainly be something to behold but you have to wonder if the former Chelsea star will be up for the Premier League challenge again after suffering a string of injuries last time.

Robben had previously come out and said he was not interested in a move to United saying he was happy at Bayern Munich but it is possible his spell on international duty and playing alongside RVP and being managed by Van Gaal may have opened his mind to the possibility of returning.

Arjen Robben has had a fantastic World Cup scoring one of the goals of the tournament against reigning champions Spain and has generally impressed with his pace and skill. The 30-year-old has made 106 appearances for Bayern Munich since joining in 2009, scoring 56 goals. Robben played in the Premier League between 2004-2007, making 67 appearances and scoring 15 goals.
