Joy for Manchester City fans as Wembley pledges to replace all stolen semi-final tickets

[LNB]Manchester City fans hit by the theft of 900 FA Cup semi-final tickets have received a huge boost as Wembley announced that it would re-issue all of stolen tickets.  [LNB]Hundreds feared they would miss the clash with United after the match tickets were nabbed from a Royal Mail delivery van on Friday. [LNB]Both City and the FA were unsure as to whether they could re-allocate the them or merely leave the seats empty, causing heartache for supporters. [LNB] Rivals: United will face rivals City in a mouth-watering FA Cup semi-final clash [LNB]But after talks the FA has decided to cancel the entire batch oftickets for the clash with United and a Wembley Stadium spokespersonconfirmed that a new issue will be sent out.[LNB]The stadium spokesperson said: 'Wembley Stadium can confirm that anumber of tickets that were stolen for the upcoming FA Cup semi-finalbetween Manchester City and Manchester United will be re-issued toManchester City.[LNB]Back in the game: Mancini's side are still fighting on two fronts this season[LNB]'The original tickets that were stolen have been cancelled on thestadium's access control system. Only the tickets for these specificseats that are now being re-issued to Manchester City will be valid onthe day.[LNB]'The stadium will continue to work very closely with the Metropolitan Police Service in planning for this event.'[LNB]Meanwhile, a man has been arrested in connection with the theft.Police arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of theft on Mondaymorning after officers investigating the theft carried out three searchwarrants in the city.[LNB]The man, who was not arrested at any of the addresses searched by police, has been bailed pending further inquiries[LNB]A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said no tickets wererecovered as a result of the warrants and added that inquiries werecontinuing.[LNB]The thieves struck shortly before 7.50pm on Friday in Ashton NewRoad, Manchester, when two bags of special delivery mail were stolenfrom a Royal Mail van.[LNB]A statement released by the club said: 'Manchester City are workingclosely with Greater Manchester Police and Royal Mail in connectionwith the theft of Special Delivery mail items from a Royal Mail van onFriday.[LNB]'A number of tickets for the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadiumwere stolen. All supporters impacted by the theft will be contacted bythe club in the coming days.'[LNB]The statement concludes: 'Supporters are strongly advised not topurchase tickets from unofficial sources.
