  Michael Carrick believes the best defenders in the world will be running scared of Wayne Rooney by the time the World Cup arrives.[LNB]Carrick has been impressed by Rooney's blistering start to the season as the striker has bagged seven goals for Manchester United and one for England.[LNB]Midfielder Carrick gets a good look at his United team-mate every week and is tipping the 23-year-old to shine in South Africa next summer.[LNB]'Wayne is world class. The goals have been flying in for him but he brings a lot more than that,' Carrick told the Evening Standard.[LNB]'We saw him burst on to the stage in Euro 2004 and you look at how hehas progressed since then. It is all building towards him doing verywell next summer and I am sure he will.[LNB]'Defenders will be scared of coming up against Wayne - and understandably so. [LNB]'You can understand why those players are talked about. Ronaldo was brilliant over the last couple of years and Messi came into it last season but hopefully it will be Wayne's turn this season. [LNB]'It would probably surprise people to hear it but if you see Wayne before a game, he is very relaxed.
