Injury problems are over - Ferdinand

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is confident he is over his injury troubles as he prepares to make his first appearance of the season.[LNB] Ferdinand endured an injury-plagued last campaign due to back-related problems and then missed the World Cup finals due to a knee injury.[LNB]The England captain hurt ligaments in training prior to the start of the tournament, but is now ready to make his comeback for United.[LNB]He is expected to be involved in the Red Devils' opening Champions League group game against Rangers on Tuesday and is looking forward to his return.[LNB]"I have been training full pelt with the team the last two weeks and played a reserve game the other day and feel good," said Ferdinand in The Sun.[LNB]"I just enjoyed being out there, putting the shirt on and smelling the cut grass again."[LNB]The 31-year-old added: "My back is fine now. There are things I have to do to make sure the problem doesn't reoccur, but that is all part of getting older.[LNB]"I hope I am through it all now. I feel confident my knee is perfect and confident with my back."
