Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola gives directions to his players during a training session in Barcelona ahead of next week's Champions League final Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola insists he knows how to 'hurt' Manchester United in next Wednesday's European Cup final in Rome Guardiola's first port of call after eliminating Chelsea was to watch the video of his side's Champions League semi-final defeat by United last season. Claiming to know where his predecessor, Frank Rijkaard, had got it wrong, Guardiola said: 'I saw things where we can hurt them and things where they are dangerous. I saw many games from the (Premier) League. 'We've got our way of playing regardless of results. We'll try to monopolise the ball and have as much possession as we can.' With Barca's attacking trident in such blistering form this season - Leo Messi, Samuel Eto'o and Thierry Henry have amassed a staggering 97 goals in total - Guardiola has cause to be optimistic his side can threaten United's defence more than last year. No Spanish team has ever achieved the treble of the Spanish league title, the Copa del Rey and the European Cup. 'We have to win at all costs because we can make history,' said Guardiola. 'If you go with the feeling of 'we've already had a good season and we're against the best team in the world' you have no chance. 'I don't know if we will ever have the same chance again.' Pep Guardiola attends a press conference at the Nou Camp on Thursday Guardiola was suitably modest when it came to praising Sir Alex Ferguson. He said: 'He has a few more years than me and a few more titles! I respect him and I admire his career. It's an honour to play a final against a team managed by Ferguson.'
