Hornets swoop for Drinkwater

Watford have signed Manchester United midfielder Danny Drinkwater on a loan deal until the end of the season. The 20-year-old was recalled from a spell at Cardiff earlier this week, but has now made an immediate return to the npower Championship. Drinkwater is ineligible for Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie against Brighton after featuring for the Bluebirds in their third-round defeat against Stoke. Hornets boss Malky Mackay told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to get Danny in. Five clubs were in for him this week - Manchester United were good enough to allow me to speak to him and for Danny to come here. "I think our previous work in the loan market with young players certainly has something to do with it. (Fellow United midfielder) Tom Cleverley had a good time here, was treated well, and became an England Under-21 international. "I'm delighted that we're seen as a club which Premiership clubs can trust."
