The last man to score a winning goal for Manchester United in the Champions League final believes that the current squad will draw inspiration from the club's glorious history as they attempt to win the trophy for a fourth time tonight. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer famously toe-poked the last-minute strike that earned United an unforgettable victory against Bayern Munich on May 26, 1999 - a date also notable for being the birthday of legendary manager Sir Matt Busby. This year's final falls ten years and a day afterUnited's Nou Camp triumph - and Solskjaer - now reserve team coach at Old Trafford - can understand why some supporters feel the omens are on their side. Solskjaer said: 'I hope so. It was a good omen for us in 1999 as it was Sir Matt Busby's birthday the day we won. He would have been 90. The club have made a tradition of making history at right time.'
