It is 35 years to the day since Sir Alex Ferguson entered football management. On June 1 1974  - the year Paul Scholes was born - a 32-year-old Ferguson was appointed manager of East Stirlingshire on a part-time basis earning £40 a week. Three-and-a-half decades later Ferguson has become the most successful British manager of all time.
