Hangzhou Greentown 2 Man United 8: Red Devils round off tour with rout

Manchester United rounded off the Asia leg of their pre-season tour with a stroll in the heat of China. United had won all three games on their tour so far but this was a cakewalk for them as the charmingly named Hangzhou Greentown proved to be the most accommodating of opposition. Michael Owen scored twice in the first half - taking his tour total to four - while Dimitar Berbatov and Serbian winger Zoltain Tosic also scored to make it 4-0 at half-time. dimitar berbatov Friendly fire: Berbatov gets stuck in as United hit cruise control Then, as the host team wilted after the interval, United played some open and enterprising football to add another four goals in the second half through substitute Ryan Giggs' hat-trick and Nani. There was thankfully time for the hosts to save some face as substitute Wang Hong You headed in from a corner with fifteen minutes left and another sub, Voldo, banged in another with the final kick of the game. It was then left to United defender Patric Evra to contribute the most amusing moment of the trip so far. The Frenchman had already struck the post from 25 yards with a rasping shot and then struck the same upright again as the game petered out. But this time Evra had only been standing three yards from goal. The United bench collapsed in mirth and Evra trudged back to his position with his shirt pulled over his head. There was still time for the Brazilian Anderson to hit the post from the edge of the area. He still hasn't scored for United. United flew to Munich straight after the game where they will play two games in the Audi Cup on Wednesday and Thursday. Defender Nemanja Vidic and new signing Antonio Valencia will join them there.
