Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle is backing Wayne Rooney to fire England to glory over Wales in tomorrow's Euro 2012 qualifier at the Millennium Stadium.[LNB]Ex-England boss Hoddle, who enjoyed a 53-cap international career, feels Rooney is hitting peak form at the right time and will prove too strong for a Wales side who lost their their opening three games in Group G.[LNB]England dropped two vital points at home to early leaders Montenegro so need a win to get their campaign back on track - but Hoddle has no fears.[LNB] Kick-starting my season: Wayne Rooney scores his wonder goal against Manchester City[LNB] 'Wayne Rooney is really getting going now and grabbing spectacular goals,' said Hoddle.[LNB]'With himin form and playing well England should have too much. I expect Rooney to be champing at the bit to get at the Welsh and don't think he'll disappoint.'[LNB]Rooney -like most of the England squad - had a dreadful World Cup and matters reached a head against Algeria when he slammed supporters for jeering the team following the 0-0 draw with the Africans.[LNB]However, the Manchester United striker's spectacular overhead kick to beat Manchester City last month breathed new life into his season and kept his side on course for the treble.[LNB]The Castrol Predictor - based an all the facts, figures and results, suggest England have a 63 per cent chance of winning in Cardiff and Hoddle believes this is more than realistic.[LNB] That's better: Wayne Rooney celebrates that City strike eight months after his on-camera World Cup tirade[LNB]He added: 'It's not often the away team are such favourites and any international is a hard game but on this occasion England should be too strong.[LNB]'Wales will be roared on by a full house but they shouldn't beat England.'[LNB]However, Hoddle knows only too well what can happen.[LNB]Confident: Ex-England boss Glenn Hoddle[LNB]In 1980 he was part of an England team crushed 4-1 by Wales at Wrexham in a Home International and he recalls 'the dustbowl' on that fateful day.[LNB]'The pitch was nothing like they will pay on this weekend and we made the mistake of trying to pass our way along it. It was a big mistake.[LNB]'Wales had quality players like Micky Thomas and Leighton James and it was just an awful day the office for us.'[LNB]It was one of many occasions as both player and boss that Hoddle witnessed first hand how so-called lesser teams raise their game against England.[LNB]'It's in their nature to want to beat England,' said Hoddle.[LNB]'We have the biggest and best League in the world but sometimes that's no match for the passion and fire teams come at us with.[LNB]'We must match the Welsh for passion and commitment or it could be an intriguing match.[LNB]'I played in front of 110,000 roaring Scots at Hampden Park and that was one of the most incredible experiences of my career. There won't be that many at Wales v England but it might sound like it.'[LNB]Castrol are Official Sponsors of UEFA Euro 2012TM.
