Ryan Giggs insists leaving Manchester United is something which has never crossed his mind.[LNB] The newly-crowned PFA Player of the Year made his 800th appearance for the Red Devils during a UEFA Champions League clash with Arsenal on Wednesday.[LNB]That is a remarkable achievement in the modern game, with few players remaining loyal to any given club for a prolonged period of time.[LNB]Giggs, though, has spent his entire career at Old Trafford, and has rewritten the history books over the course of the last 18 years.[LNB]There was a time when it looked as though he may be set to quit United, with Italian giants Inter Milan strongly linked with a move for his services.[LNB]However, Giggs is adamant that a move abroad, or to another team in England, was never in the offing.[LNB]"It was never a consideration to leave," he said.[LNB]"I was linked with a few clubs but it was never really close. Why would I think about it when I was always happy here?"[LNB]ChallengedDespite now holding the honour of being United's leading appearance maker, Giggs does not expect to hold that title for long, believing there is every chance one of Sir Alex Ferguson's current crop of youngsters could overtake him in the future.[LNB]"They probably said the same thing when Sir Bobby Charlton retired after 759 games," said the 35-year-old.[LNB]"But I wouldn't be surprised if someone went past my record.[LNB]"The way players look after themselves now, if they get into a first team at 18 or 19 and stay relatively injury-free they can do it.[LNB]"It is a long time and a lot of games but you have other big players at big clubs who have stayed for a long time.[LNB]"They are getting challenged all the time, so there is no need to move on and improve yourself."[LNB]
