Giggs dreams of domination

Ryan Giggs believes that Manchester United are capable of dominating European football in the coming years. United can become the first club to win consecutive UEFA Champions League titles if they manage to defeat Barcelona in Rome on 27th May. But Giggs revealed that he was already thinking about this season's European campaign on the night of last year's triumph in Moscow. "With the way it ended in Barcelona (in 1999), the buzz lasted ages. It was just a dream that we'd been trying to do since we won the league," he told The Telegraph. "In Moscow last year, I had a few beers and I was one of the first up to bed. I was thinking about next year, got to do back-to-back Champions Leagues, that's the challenge, no one has ever done it." DriveAnd the 35-year-old is already making plans for a European treble, even before United have made the trip to Rome for their showdown with Barcelona. He thinks that the relatively young age of the team means that they are in prime position to enter a period of domination that has not been seen during the Champions League era. "We are definitely capable of that because of the age of the team. If we win in Rome it will give us unbelievable confidence to do it again next season," Giggs added. "I look for challenges - that's what drives me on. When we lose, it's a little easier to take because I come home, my daughter says something funny, and that's it, I just relax. "But I am moody. I go through what I could have done better. I can't wait for the next game to put it right."
