Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard aims to put the pressure on Manchester United at the top of the Barclays Premier League by helping his team claim top spot at West Ham.[LNB]If the Reds do so, it will be the first time since the inception of the Premier League that they have led with two games to go.[LNB]Of course United, with a game in hand, can reclaim top spot by winning at home to neighbours Manchester City 24 hours later.[LNB]But the measure of Liverpool's improvement this season will be underlined by even a temporary stint at the head of the table at this stage.[LNB]If they do take all three points at the Boleyn Ground, they will reach the 80-point mark for only the third time in the Premier League - their highest is the 82 amassed in the 2005-06 season, when they finished third.[LNB]Gerrard, set to lead Liverpool for the 100th time in league combat, still believes the title is possible. He said: "We will keep going until the end. We won't surrender when we're so close. Winning the title with this club would mean the world to me."
