Fulham defender Pantsil's amazing '£10,000 bonus for thwarting United star Ronaldo'

John Pantsil is reported to have said that Fulham manager Roy Hodgson gave him £10,000 for keeping Cristiano Ronaldo quiet at Craven Cottage. The 90 Minutes newspaper quotes the Ghana full back as saying he earned the money after snuffing out the World Footballer of the Year in his side's 2-0 defeat of Manchester United last month. However, Fulham categorically deny that Pantsil or any other player received extra financial rewards after the shock Craven Cottage win against the Barclays Premier League champions. The Premier League may seek clarification about the allegedcomments from Pantsil, who has been a first team regular since joiningfrom West Ham for £1.5million last summer. Bonuses must be written into a player's contract and it seemsunlikely that Pantsil would have previously negotiated £10,000 forFulham defeating the champions.
