The France midfielder heaped praise upon the in-form United front-man, who has scored an incredible 33 goals so far this season, and warned his team-mates that England's talisman poses all the threat in tonight's quarter-final first leg at the Allianz Arena.
Ribery said: 'Rooney is carrying the United team this season. We must pay great attention to him.

'He's having a tremendous season and I am happy for him. He's a player I like a lot.
'He's hungry. He gives everything for his team. He will tackle, he defends, he attacks, he scores goals. He's full of confidence.'
Ribery also admitted his side are dark horses to progress to the last four against a team that has made the last two finals, but urged Bayern to trust in their own ability and pull off a shock.
He added: 'The whole world sees us losing but I think we have a great chance. We have a team good enough to believe in.'
