Foster unconcerned for Macheda

Ben Foster is confident that new teenage sensation Federico Macheda will be able to keep his feet on the ground especially with Gary Neville around. The 17-year-old added to his debut strike against Aston Villa a week earlier by grabbing another winning goal at Sunderland on Saturday. With the scores locked at 1-1, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson sent for the young Italian and within 45 seconds of his introduction he had helped the champions leapfrog Liverpool and go back to the top of the table. But Foster, who admitted that he was at fault for the Black Cats' equaliser, believes that Macheda is not the type to allow himself to get carried away with his recent success. "He should be OK," the England international said. Level-headed "Kiko is quite a level-headed lad but I don't think there are too many in the dressing room that would let him get carried away with himself. "Gary Neville puts his foot down on anything like that." The former Lazio youngster guided Michael Carrick's shot on 76 minutes into the bottom corner but Foster revealed that the rest of the squad have raised doubts over whether he meant the delicate touch. "He said he guided it in," Foster laughed. "He said it was a deft touch but I don't think many of the lads believed him."
