Fletcher and United wary of Swansea

Darren Fletcher insists Manchester United will not take Swansea lightly as they look to keep up the pressure on rivals Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

City host Newcastle earlier on Saturday with the chance to move eight points clear of Sir Alex Fergusons team, who have the late kick-off at the Liberty Stadium.

United have responded to last months 6-1 defeat to City with four consecutive wins without conceding a goal.

But with City having dropped just two points from their 11 matches this season, United know that any more slips could prove extremely costly.

Brendan Rodgers Swansea were promoted from the Championship last season and have impressed with a steady start to life in the top flight.

They go into the weekend tenth in the table and the basis of that is their unbeaten five-match run at home.

Ferguson's side were pushed all the way before beating Norwich 2-0 last month and Scotland captain Fletcher, 27, is in no doubt that United will be pushed all the way in Wales.

"Its a new experience for us all," Fletcher said. "Theyre the first Welsh team in the Premier League and going there will be a great experience.

"Swansea have been applauded for the football theyve played this season.

"When I was on international duty, I spoke to a couple of my Scotland team-mates who have played against them and they told me how well Swansea keep the ball.

"They play football in the right way and have been a breath of fresh air since coming into the Premier League. Its going to be a real challenge for us on Saturday.

"I'm sure this is the sort of fixture Swansea and their fans have been dreaming about for years.

"Welsh fans are always passionate and I'm sure the stadium will be packed out so it should be a fantastic atmosphere."

Striker Danny Welbeck is Ferguson's major doubt after he withdrew from Englands midweek friendly with Sweden due to a muscle problem.

Midfielder Tom Cleverley may also miss out an ankle injury sustained in last months 1-0 victory at Everton.

Fellow forward Michael Owen has been ruled out for six weeks with a thigh problem, while Chris Smalling is facing another month out with a foot injury.

Swansea striker Danny Graham has looked comfortable during his first sustained experience of the Premier League.

He has scored four goals in his last five appearances and feels Cleverley -- who he played alongside when the United man was on loan at Watford -- will be the visitors' main threat.

"You look at (Wayne) Rooney, Nani, (Javier) Hernandez, they're all top players," said Graham.

"But if you take your eye off someone like Tom Cleverley then he will be very dangerous and clinical.

"I know him well from my Watford days. He made a big impact there and showed his quality.

"He scored a lot of goals from midfield and after that stint at Watford, and another at Wigan, he has settled in the United team and has been included in the England squad as well."

Rodgers will be hoping that on-loan Tottenham defender Steven Caulker and striker Stephen Dobbie can overcome respective knee and foot injuries, while United youth-team product Alan Tate is absent long-term with a broken leg.

The Welsh side have already faced most of the top teams in the Premier League and Graham insists they have not been fazed by anyone.

"Weve played against Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool already this season so we have had good experience of going up against big teams," he said.

"Playing Manchester United is right up there among the toughest -- if not the toughest -- test we will face this season but we know everyone is beatable in this league."
