Ferguson welcomes Nev return

Sir Alex Ferguson believes club captain Gary Neville can play a major role in Man United's close season run-in. Neville's season has been plagued by injury but he made his latest return in a reserve match against Newcastle on Monday night after two months out with a groin injury. With fellow right-backs Rafael and Wes Brown currently out of action, Neville is in line for a first-team return against Aston Villa on Sunday. United's cup success this season has seen their fixture list pile up towards the end of the season, and with the midweek Champions League clash with Porto also looming, Ferguson is delighted to have his captain back in contention. "I am absolutely delighted Gary is back, he will certainly play a part in the run-in now," he said. "Playing is the most important thing (for Neville). Having players around the dressing room when they are not fit is not great. "In fact, it is probably not the best thing for them because they want to be playing."
