Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger paid tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson's 25-year reign at Manchester United on Friday, stating that his rival's remarkable reign at Old Trafford will never be bettered.

Wenger, who had a bitter rivalry with Ferguson when Arsenal were United's most consistent challengers, described the United manager's quarter of a century in charge as "remarkable."

"What can you say? People are talking about it a lot at the moment," Wenger said. "All you can say is that it is remarkable through the quality and the consistency.

"It is exceptional as well because I don't know anybody at the top level who has done 25 years at the top level with the same club. Certainly never anybody will do it again."

Ferguson will mark 25 years in charge of United on Sunday.

Wenger -- the second longest-serving manager in the Premier League after Ferguson with 15 years at Arsenal -- said he doubts whether he will be able to emulate the legendary Scot.

"The distance is a bit far, that would be 10 more years," Wenger laughed. "I am already happy if I make this year a good season after all of this!"
