Sir Alex Ferguson says that strikers Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov have given him something to think about when it comes to picking his side for up and coming matches.

Both Owen and Berbatov were on the mark as United beat Aldershot 3-0 to progress to the next round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday night.

This competition is the only one that Owen has featured in this season and last time out he netted two as United destroyed Leeds.

Berbatov opened the scoring on Tuesday but on Sunday he was nothing more than an unused sub that looked on as United were hammered 6-1.And Ferguson admitted after the game on Tuesday that both players had improved their chances of regular football."Any time Owen plays, he scores", said the United boss.

"You can't ignore that - he's a fantastic professional with a fantastic ratio of goals per game."He's just got that knack and is an amazing player."While on Berbatov, he added: "Berbatov had a fantastic game tonight and scored a tremendous goal, it was a marvelous piece of football and Dimitar slotted it home."
