Fergie praise for Macheda

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes Federico Macheda has 'something special' after the teenager again proved the match winner for his side. After hitting the decisive goal in last weekend's dramatic comeback at home to Aston Villa, the Italian again struck the Premier League leaders' winner in a 2-1 victory Sunderland on Saturday. United had taken the lead through Paul Scholes in the first half, but the struggling Black Cats hit back through Kenwyne Jones after the interval. Macheda, though, ensured United overtook Liverpool at the summit as he deflected a winner just seconds after coming off the bench. And Ferguson was quick to hail the 17-year-old, saying: "He has got something special about him. One of the players said he actually tried it. "He side-footed it as it came to him. It's that quick-thinking that goalscorers have got. He has just got that instinct. "He knows the role we want him to play. We want him to penetrate in behind them. "He has got good movement, he has got quickness in his movement and it showed that when he came on. "He wasn't fazed by anything. Right away, he got involved in the game and he had a good 20 minutes for us."
