Sir Alex Ferguson may make a move for Santos midfielder Ganso as he looks to add to an already impressive squad. The 21-year-old is likely to cost around £25million but would fit in perfectly to Ferguson's plans as he tries to build yet another young squad capable of challenging on all fronts.

The Scot has been tracking the Brazilian international for some time and make may a move before the close of the transfer window next week.

However, it's thought that if he does get his man, Ganso could be sent out on loan for the rest of the season, either back to Santos who are keen to keep him, or somewhere else in Europe.

Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Chelsea are also thought to be interested in acquiring the services of the tall playmaker, so Sir Alex may use a loan back to Brazil as a bargaining tool with Santos to try and beat off other rivals.

Ganso has scored 26 goals in the last two seasons in Brazil and would surely relish moving to one of the biggest clubs in the world where he could line up alongside his fellow countrymen Fabio, Rafael and Anderson.
