Fergie drops Scholes hint
// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Sir Alex Ferguson has hinted Manchester United will offer Paul Scholes the chance to prolong his career with the Premier League champions.[LNB] The former England international's deal is due to expire at the end of the season and the 34-year-old has previously hinted he would hang up his boots next summer.[LNB]Scholes cited poor form and a fresh knee injury as the reasons for his diminished enthusiasm, although the 2009/10 season has seen the veteran playmaker back to his best.[LNB]Ferguson acknowledged Scholes' game has changed over the years, however, he has seen a recent spark in his game that leads him to believe he can play beyond this season.[LNB]Fresh "I don't think this is Paul's last season. Not with the way that he plays. He is not the type to burst in to the penalty box any more is he?" explained Ferguson.[LNB]"It's difficult to say [how long he can go on] because it's still only September, but I am seeing the fresh Scholesy and the best time to use Scholes is when he is fresh. [LNB]"He will not be playing the whole season, but that's why we have got a squad of players, and he will miss more than he plays. [LNB]"But if I get 25 games out of him at the level we saw against Spurs last Saturday, I think we will be delighted with that."[LNB]
