Fergie desperate to win European Cup as he insists United will face anyone

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he is 'desperate' to win the Champions League for a third time. Ferguson memorably led United to European glory in 1999 and 2008 and is now closing in on unprecedented back-to-back Champions League titles after last night's defeat of Inter Milan. After the game Ferguson claimed the Italian champions had been the toughest possible last 16 draw for United and with the competition now down to the quarter-final stage, the 67-year-old is not concerned who they are paired with in next Friday's draw in Nyon. 'I don't think it matters who we get now. We're just happy to be there,' Ferguson told MUTV. 'If we're going to win this cup, and we're really desperate to win this cup, then you've got to face somebody.'
