Sir Alex Ferguson has denied rumours suggesting that Manchester United will try and free Carlos Tevez from his contract with Kia Joorabchian. Recent newspaper reports have suggested that the club have tried to find a loophole in the deal between the pair which would allow United to sign Tevez for free. The United manager confirmed on Wednesday after the 2-1 success at Wigan that the club had opened talks with the Argetina striker over the possibility of him remaining at Old Trafford beyond this summer when his loan deal expires. However the Scot did stress that the deal was significantly more difficult than other transfers with Joorabchian owning his registration rather than another club. The player''s advisor has recently stated that his client is now actively seeking a move away from Old Trafford with the Red Devils apparently baulking at the £22million yet to be paid on a previously signed deal. "We could all break our contracts," Ferguson said. "I am not discussing anything like that. It is a bit far-fetched really." Discussions Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid have all been linked with the 25-year-old but Ferguson is leaving United chief executive David Gill to conduct the negotiations. "There was a meeting with David Gill on Wednesday, that is a clear fact," he added. "They discussed the avenue under which Carlos could stay with Manchester United. End of story. "I realise you (the media) speak to his agent but I not wish to discuss the matter any further."
