Manchester United chief Sir Alex Ferguson was delighted with his side's display at Middlesbrough as they moved clear at the top of the table. Ferguson's men are now six points clear of second placed Lvierpool, who host Newcastle at Anfield on Sunday. Many saw the trip to The Riverside as a real test for United, but there were no problems as a goal in each half from Ryan Giggs and Park Ji-sung secured the win. "I thought it was a very good performance in terms that they worked their socks off," he told Sky Sports. "They knew it was going to be battle and we had to withstand that, but once we got hold of the ball we always knew we would be a dangerous "Once we got in front - they are a young side so nerves come into play against Manchester United as they knew they had to chase the game." Ferguson admits that United are closing on another title. "It is a big step forward," he said. "There are only four games left, you whittle the games away and then there are none left, and hopefully when we get to that position we will be top of the league." Ferguson was also full of praise for Korean goal-scorer Park. "I don't think there would be many players who do more running than Park," he said. "That is the nature of his game. That's what he is good at. He's clever, he knows how to time his runs and he knows where the space is. He has been fantastic. "We had to give him a rest recently because he had been to Korea two World Cup qualifiers. He came back a bit jaded. We gave him two weeks off and now he is fresh."
