Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson watched his team draw 0-0 with Rangers at Old Trafford on Tuesday night and after defended his ploy of making ten changes to the team that drew 3-3 with Everton at the weekend. The only player to survive the axe was Darren Fletcher although there were places in the side for Rio Ferdinand who is back from Injury and Wayne Rooney who is back from.... er, well, just back. Fergie said: "The criticism will be why I didn’t play a stronger team. I think I played a very strong team. People forget eight of them played against Chelsea in the Charity (Community) Shield. "It's a terrific squad of players we have and there was no problem playing them. "They should have won that game, but give credit to Rangers, their system is very difficult to break down."
