Fergie complies with FA

Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to have complied with the Football Association's request to submit his post-match views on Alan Wiley. The Manchester United boss criticised the referee for failing to keep up with the pace of the game and labelling him unfit in the aftermath of the champions' 2-2 draw with Sunderland last time out. Ferguson has issued an apology for his outburst but refused to comment on the saga any further when he addressed the media ahead of his side's clash with Bolton at Old Trafford on Saturday. Instead the Scot preferred to focus on the visit of the Trotters and in particular his disbelief at the fact that Gary Megson has to put up with criticism from a large section of Bolton supporters. Megson has seemingly divided opinion amongst Trotters fans ever since he took charge in October 2007. "Gary Megson has had criticism, which beggars belief," he said. "Bolton are a better team than people give them credit for. They have always been a determined side. "But when Sam (Allardyce) was there he elevated them to a higher level. When he left, he was a big man to replace. "But Megson has kept them up. They are physical and determined - and they never give in."
