Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he was worried about going into the game against Arsenal without two of his most experienced midfielders.[LNB] The Manchester United boss used Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes in the Premier League clash with Middlesbrough on Saturday but then decided to make changes for the midweek UEFA Champions League encounter.[LNB]United produced a polished display to win 3-1 at Emirates Stadium and set up a European final against either Chelsea or Barcelona, with Park Ji-sung, Anderson, Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher all impressing.[LNB]Ferguson, however, concedes that he had doubts about their ability to cope without Scholes and Giggs.[LNB]"On Saturday I thought I'd made a big mistake by leaving Giggs and Scholes too long (against Boro)," Ferguson explained.[LNB]Achievement"I felt we would miss their experience. But the players who did play were great.[LNB]"To leave out Giggs, Scholes, Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez is a measure of what the players achieved."[LNB]Ferguson is confident that United can go on to prevail in the Rome showpiece and defend the trophy they won last season.[LNB]"We should have won this cup more times than we have," Ferguson admitted.[LNB]"This is another opportunity for us and hopefully we can do it again. I think we have the quality and the energy and the ambition to do it.[LNB]"This is a hungry team. When the chips are down they don't let me down."[LNB]
