Ferdinand wants Mourinho
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes that Inter boss Jose Mourinho could be a strong candidate to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.[LNB] The Premier League and European Champions are currently halfway through their last-16 tie with Mourinho's Serie A leaders with the scores locked at 0-0.[LNB]After the Portuguese's achievements with Porto, Chelsea and now Inter the England international believes that he is one of a select few who could replace the Scot.[LNB]The 30-year-old acknowledges that the person who finally succeeds his current boss will have to be a strong character but the former West Ham youngster believes Ferguson still has the passion to continue for a good while yet.[LNB]"Do they still get the hairdryer? Oh yeah," he told GQ magazine.[LNB]Full force"I've seen them turn pink and black guys turn white. It's not pretty. But from what the older lads tell me, it used to be a lot worse.[LNB]"I got the full force of it after a game against Benfica in the Champions League. I was just thinking 'Please move on to someone else'.[LNB]"At the time I was exploding inside thinking he was being unfair and I didn't agree with him.[LNB]"But then I looked back on it and he was right. And he always has the last word. So if you talk back at him he just keeps going and going and gets louder and louder until you shut up, so it's best to say nothing.[LNB]"Normally it comes after we have behaved badly on a night out. Then the fireworks explode and he goes absolutely bananas and everyone's heads are on the floor, desperately not trying to catch his eye.[LNB]"People always ask me what he's really like, but it's hard to put into words. He is a winner, full stop.[LNB]"There are very few people who could take over.[LNB]"If you're talking about someone with the ego and the personality to do it, then Jose Mourinho is the name that jumps out at you."[LNB]RonaldoFerdinand, who has hopes of starting in the Carling Cup final against Tottenham on Sunday, also added that team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo was badly advised over his transfer saga with Real Madrid in the summer.[LNB]"It's true he didn't say what a lot of people at the club wanted him to say during the summer, especially the fans," he added.[LNB]"They didn't want to hear him saying he wanted to leave. He was badly advised and could have handled things better.[LNB]"But he's a brilliant player. He still trains very hard. People forget that. He's very funny. And you can tell that because if he hadn't been a good lad in the changing room after all that nonsense in the summer he'd have been gone."[LNB]
