Ferdinand form impresses Vidic

Nemanja Vidic has hailed the imperious form of central defensive partner Rio Ferdinand. Although the England captain conceded a penalty in Saturday's win over West Brom, his trip of Jerome Thomas turned out to be Ferdinand's first foul since March. It is an amazing statistic, which Vidic feels his team-mate should be proud of, even if he could not resist an amusing comment. "His first foul for three months, and it was a penalty. He should be disappointed," smiled the United skipper. "Seriously, that is a great run. He is so good at reading the game. He does not commit himself when he doesn't need to, which for a defender, is very important. "He is such a good footballer and is playing really well just now."
