Falcao could stay at United: Report

The player who joined Manchester United on loan with so much expectation from Monaco after being courted by Real Madrid among others could have his loan deal extended until January suggests reports.

The player appeared certain to move on in the summer after a disappointing run at United that did not deliver on the huge expectations given his fearsome reputation but the player could yet be afforded more time at Old Trafford. The Mirror reports that Manchester United are considering an extension to give the player more time to make his mark meaning they will not take up the option to make the player permanent for a £43.2million fee but giving the 29-year-old more time to settle.

The current Radamel Falcao loan deal is set to expire on June 1st with the Colombian who has been so prolific with other clubs as a predatory striker returning just four goals for United. Falcao did join United after a cruciate knee ligament injury that forced the player out of action for months and the feeling is that a full pre-season and rest could help the player rediscover his goalscoring form.

Another factor which might sway negotiations is that Falcao shares the same agent as De Gea in Jorge Mendes with the goalkeeper more likely to be persuaded to stay if Falcao extends his own stay as reported by MEN.

Radamel Falcao is a popular figure with fans who desperately want him to do well and find his form, they have been very supportive despite his difficulties and undoubted pressure. It is also worth considering that the system at Manchester United is not based around the strengths of Falcao and he finds himself often coming deep to retrieve the ball and holding up play whilst support arrives.
