Fabio Capello puts the boot into Italy: Premier League far superior to Serie A

England fan: Capello has admitted his torment over Michael Owen but the Italian has no such problems in admitting his love for all other things English[LNB]Fabio Capello's relationship with England has become something of a love affair, it would seem.[LNB]He adores the place and he adores the football in a way, he says, he could never adore his native Italy.[LNB]During a speech that will encourage those same employers at the Football Association who are so keen to see that he remains England manager beyond next summer's World Cup, Capello was as scathing about Italy as he was complimentaryabout his adopted home.[LNB]He criticised his old friends in Serie A for pandering to the demands of the 'hard core Ultras', who it has long been known are given free tickets, and in some cases even paid, just to ensure support.[LNB]Capello says it is a misguided policy, and a reason why so many Italian clubs struggle to fill their stadia. Serie A has been plagued by hooliganism for years, with incidents almost weekly and the death of a police officer during rioting at a Sicilian derby between Palermo and Catania two years ago forcing the governing body to suspend matches for a weekend.[LNB]'It's impossible to stop the Ultras running the game,' said Capello. 'They are the oneswho are in charge and no one has the courage to take them on.[LNB]'In England the grounds are always full. There is a real desire to go to a game andnothing ever happens because stewards carry out a perfect role.[LNB]'It saddens me to see what is happening in Italy. The decline is ever more evident but what it needs is the application of the law. The authorities and the clubs need to make some decisions and people would then return to the game and the grounds would be full again.'[LNB]During the seminar at the Italian national training ground at Coverciano, Capelloalso dismissed the idea of ever coaching Italy. 'The Italian coaching job could never fascinate me as much as the England one,' he said, before taking another swipe at the Italians for their tolerance towards divers. [LNB] Heading for the World Cup? Capello is 'tormented' over the decision whether to take Manchester United striker Owen to the World Cup next summer[LNB]'In Italy the divers are praised and receive prizes,' he said. 'But in England they are jeered.'[LNB]His words invited a response in Italy, with Giancarlo Abete, president of the Italian FA,insisting what Capello was saying did not 'correspond with reality'.[LNB]But Capello is not a man who will worry too much about that when his straight-talkingapproach to all matters football has earned him success as well as respect.[LNB]Yesterday he finally spoke of that outburst when he caught England players Emile Heskey among them breaking squad rules about the use of mobile phones at meal time. [LNB]Capello spotted them during England's recent trip to Ukraine and he confirmed that he exploded with rage, even if he then denied initial reports that he threw a food tray against a wall.[LNB]'I was a little late getting into dinner and there were some lids on the trays of food at the buffet,' he said. 'I turned round and I saw two players using mobile phones to send texts.[LNB]'I said, 'Is it too much to ask for an hour not using your mobile telephones?' Then atthat moment the lid I was holding dropped to the table. That's it.'[LNB]  David Beckham set for AC Milan return after Adriano Galliani reveals deal is '100 per cent certain' Diving is a disgrace but I wouldn't kill my England players for cheating, says Fabio Capello EXCLUSIVE: You'll make it Becks... and Peter Crouch is also set for Fabio Capello's 2010 World Cup squad [LNB]  Explore more:People:Fabio Capello, Michael Owen, Emile HeskeyPlaces:Italy, United KingdomOrganisations:Football Association
