ShareSir Alex Ferguson has become the first manager to be charged by the FA for comments made about a referee in the run-up to a Barclays Premier League game.

The Manchester United manager was charged with improper conduct yesterday after talking about Howard Webb prior to last Sunday's Premier League decider against Chelsea at Old Trafford.
