Michael Owen will push for an England recall when Fabio Capello watches him in action tonight.
The Manchester United forward will be watched by the Three Lions boss and his No 2 Franco Baldini in the friendly with Valencia at Old Trafford.
Owen is attempting to revive his career at the Barclays Premier League champions after a nightmare spell with relegated Newcastle.
The former Liverpool and Real Madrid star has failed to impress Capello so far and faces a fight to earn a place at next year's World Cup finals, with England on course to qualify for South Africa.
Owen has not pulled on a England shirt for 14 months, with his last appearance coming in the friendly win against Trinidad & Tobago last summer.
Capello has not closed the door on owen but will need to be convinced over his form and fitness before offering him a recall, perhaps for the friendly with Holland in Amsterdam on August 12.
