Everton duo stake semi-final claim

Everton duo Joseph Yobo and James Vaughan could return for the Toffees' FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United on Sunday. Nigerian defender Yobo had been a doubt for the clash after injuring his hamstring before the Portsmouth game on March 21. But the 28-year-old resumed training on Tuesday and could be thrust back into action by manager David Moyes. Vaughan is also giving the Toffees boss a selection headache ahead of the Wembley clash after recovering from cartilage surgery in November quicker than expected. The 20-year-old was thought to be out for the rest of the season but featured for 68 minutes of the reserves' 0-0 draw with Sunderland last week. "I think he has got a bit to go," Moyes told the Liverpool Echo when asked about Vaughan. "Vaughany is champing at the bit to try and get involved. But he is short of practice and I've got to try and get some work into him. "I want to try and get him ready as quick as I can. He is not quite where we want him. But his enthusiasm is great. "That's why we get him back so quickly when we can. "He forces us and pushes us so hard to get him back in the team. He is a brilliant lad and a brilliant player to have around. "He always gets back from injury quicker than the time that is expected of him. We have to make sure that we don't let him come back too quickly now."
