Evans Delighted With Goal

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans says he is delighted after scoring his first goal for the club in the win at Wolves on Sunday.

It was the Northern Ireland international who set United on their way when he grabbed the first of five goals his team scored.

The last time Evans scored it was 2007 when he was on loan at Sunderland, but the player could not hide his delight when interviewed after the rout.

"Yeah, that (statistic) doesn't sound too good. I'm just delighted with the goal,"Evans told MUTV.

"Michael Carrick put it on a plate for me really. There's no point me having a celebration (planned). I just ran off and a few of the lads were laughing at the expression on my face."

"It was pure relief and a bit of shock really. I've kept the shirt today and that will do for me."
