Enrique hopeful of Pedro stay

Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique has made it clear he wants Manchester United target Pedro to stay at the Nou Camp this summer. The Spain international's future has been uncertain all summer and United are very interested in the 28-year-old, who has a £22m release clause in his Barca contract.

United boss Louis van Gaal is prepared to pay that fee as he looks for new recruits to bolster his squad following the departure of Robin van Persie earlier this summer and the expected departure of Angel di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain. However, Enrique would like Pedro to stay, even if his chances of playing are severely restricted by Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar at the Nou Camp. "Pedro is a high-level player and as a coach I want him to stay here, but it is his decision," he said. "There will only be exits if someone wants to leave and at the moment we don't have news about this."

Barcelona are 8/11 with bet365 to win La Liga this season, while they are 3/1 to retain their Champions League title.
