Edwin signs new deal at Man United to place doubts over future of Foster

Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has put pen-to-paper on a new deal which will take him beyond his 40th birthday.[LNB]The veteran shot-stopper signed a new one-year extension on Friday that will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2011.[LNB]The Dutchman's new deal however, casts further doubt over the future of England prospect Ben Foster, who has fallen behind Tomasz Kuszczak in the United pecking order.[LNB] Flying Dutchman: Van der Sar has signed a new one-year deal at Old Trafford[LNB]Van der Sar has been a key figure in Manchester United's trio of consecutive Barclays Premier League titles and European Cup success in 2008. [LNB]And United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was deligthed to reward Van der Sar, who moved to Old Trafford in 2005, with a new deal.[LNB]'Edwin's professionalism and dedication to his job and the way he looks after himself has given him the longevity in the game,' Ferguson told ManUtd.com. [LNB]'That longevity includes such great experience not just at United, but at Juventus, Ajax and on an international level.
