Duo Set To Miss Arsenal Test

Sir Alex Ferguson will be taking a strong squad to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday as his side look to continue to head towards breaking the Premiership's points record.

But there are a couple of doubts for Fergie in Michael Carrick and Jonny Evans who are both struggling to be fit for the game.

There has been talk of United putting some of the younger players and those who are on the fringe of the first team. 18-year-old Belgian midfielder Adnan Januzaj has been issued with the squad number 44 ahead of the game, so it's just possible that he may be getting his first taste of senior football.

But with Arsenal fighting it out for a top-four finish along with Chelsea and Tottenham, then its Fergies duty to send out a team that he feels will be strong enough to beat the Gunners.

Speaking at his Friday press conference, the Reds boss said: "Having won the league, there's always a danger of falling into the trap of 'it's all over and we can relax' and enjoy ourselves but I think we've got a duty to other clubs who are chasing Champions League places.

"Also, the rivalry we've had with Arsenal and then Chelsea over the years does put an edge to these games anyway so hopefully we'll represent ourselves in the right way."

Evans and Carrick were both injured in the win against Aston Villa so there could be a chance of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic returning to the centre of defence.

Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley and Nani could also get the chance of a game.
